St Mary's Church, Brinkley is built in the perpendicular style from the 14th/15th century with Victorian restorations. St Mary's can seat approximately 200 people.
Our bells and tower were restored in 1985/86 and we are very lucky to have a group of bell ringers who are able to offer bell ringing for weddings and celebrations. The peals sound really beautiful.
We have two regular services each month - a said (no music) Holy Communion service on the first Sunday of each month at 9.00 am and a Morning Prayer service on the third Sunday of each month. Like other parishes, we have special services at different times in the year and welcome you to any of our services.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of you who helped in any way with the fete: not only the stall-holders, but also the many sponsors who have contributed to our prize draw, silent auction, and the portaloo. We have managed to increase our helper numbers this year, and in turn increased the variety and number of stalls.
Of course, the fine weather helped to make this year a record-breaker. We are now able to say that we have made a tremendous £3100 profit. We intend to give a donation to our ever-present Guides of £100; and to split the remainder between the Memorial Hall and St Mary’s Church.
As we all now recover, we hope that you will consider helping again next year. Lastly, we would just like to say a huge thank you to Adrian and Belinda Hull for enabling the fete to have such an idyllic setting at Brinkley Hall. These are the sort of community events that keep villages alive, and bring everyone together.
