St Peter's, Carlton is the smallest church in our Benefice - it is 13th Century with no special features but is a really beautiful small Church. Our Church is the only public building in Carlton and so any gathering, secular or religious, is held in the Church - this includes our Parish Council meetings. We can seat approximately 100 people.
We have just started a regular said (no music) communion service which will be held on the first Thursday of each month at 10.00 am and we would love you to join us.
We regularly hold sung evensongs in the church. Additionally, twice a year we hold a full Choral Evensong with a choir made up of local people. This is quite an event and brings together people from all our villages. We also have very well attended Remembrance and Christmas services so please look out for details.
Coming up at Carlton:
Sunday 29 July Evensong Service 6pm An Evensong Service is being held at Carlton during which the new Common Praise hymnbooks are to be dedicated. The books were purchased using some of the funds given to the church in memory of Martin Reynolds. Many of Martins family will be attending the service, and I'm sure would appreciate friends and acquaintances of Martin joining them at the service.
Sunday 16 September Choral Evensong 6pm On Sunday 16th September, there will be a Choral Evensong held in the church at 6pm. Singers from villages south of Cambridge get together with singers from the benefice and sing a full evensong service in our tiny little church. It's a wonderful atmosphere, and a service not to be missed.
Please also remember our new monthly weekly Communion service on the first Thursday of every month at 10 am - all welcome to this Said (no music) service.
